“Cures are what the people want, and cures are what doctors and cultists affect to make; but at most, only relief is given.”

In 1926, Dr. John Tilden wrote a groundbreaking book, Toxemia Explained in which he stated his theory that all disease stemmed from chronic stress and an overburdened immune system that had become “toxic.”

According to Dr. Tilden, so-called disease is actually a toxemic crisis of the body where certain systems have become overburdened by the accumulation of metabolic waste or external toxins.

This is Toxemia explained and how to start cleansing yourself.

Dr. Tilden refers to the process by which a stressor overstimulates a body’s system as “enervation.”

The main point in Dr. Tilden’s Toxemia Explained is that when an enervating stressor gets to a toxic level above the body’s ability to remove it, disease and inflammation set in.

The periodicity which characterizes all functional derangements of the body lends color to the claims of cure-mongers that their remedy has cured their patients, when the truth is that the so-called disease “ran its course.”

The so-called disease was a toxemic crisis, and when the toxins were eliminated below the toleration point, the sickness passed—automatically health returned. But the disease was not cured; for if the cause is continued, toxins still accumulate, and in due course of time another crisis appears. Unless the cause is discovered and removed, crises will recur until functional derangements will give way to organic disease.

The end is degeneration from a lack of oxygen and nutrients, and, in degenerating, the septic material enters the circulation, setting up chronic septic poisoning called cancer cachexia.

The study of pathology—the study of disease—has engaged the best minds in the profession always, and it surely appears that the last word must have been spoken on the subject; but all researchers believe that a more intense and minute study of the early symptoms of disease will reveal the cause. There is, however, one great reason why it cannot, and that is that all diseases, from their initiation to their ending, are effects, and the most intense study of any phase or stage of their progress will not throw any light on the cause.

Cause is constant, ever present, and always the same. Only effects, and the object on which cause acts, change, and the change is most inconstant. To illustrate: A catarrh of the stomach presents first irritation, then inflammation, then ulceration, and finally induration and cancer.

The medical world is struggling to find the cause of cancer. It is the distal end of an inflammatory process whose beginning may be any irritation.

In other words, cancer is the end stage of all disease.

Examples of enervating stressors described in Toxemia Explained include:

  • Too much food
  • Too much exposure to environmental toxins (e.g., cosmetics, household cleaners, heavy metals, air pollution, etc.)
  • Too much exercise (overtraining)
  • Too much work and professional stress
  • Too much alcohol, weed, tobacco, etc.
  • Too much sex
  • Over consumption of over the counter medications
  • Marital stress and too many suppressed emotions

Dr. Tilden states that preventing illness is as easy as balancing the body’s enervating forces and reducing them through cleansing, detoxing and fasting periodically to optimize the body’s ability to clean and fight illness.

If we become too burdened by stress our bodies become plugged and we can not focus on fighting viruses and preventing bad things from happening to us.

According to Dr. Tilden, most diseases are caused by a toxemic crisis, and when the toxins are lowered back below the toleration point, the sickness, overtraining, etc., will pass.

Dr. Tilden and his book Toxemia Explained started the cleansing and detox movement and some call him the God Father of cleansing. If you are interested in learning more about this theory and protocols I highly recommend you read his entire book to learn more.

Of course medicine has come a long way and we know that genetics can also play a significant role for many and in a way our destiny is already predetermined. That said however, why not give yourself the best shot at beating your genetics by taking incredible care of yourself and cleansing regularly?

The people are so saturated with the idea that disease must be fought to a finish that they are not satisfied with conservative treatment. Something must be done, even if they pay for it with their lives, as tens of thousands do every year. This willingness to die on the altar of medical superstition is one very great reason why no real improvement is made in fundamental medical science.

Cleansing

Fasting and Abstinence

Fasting and abstaining from certain foods and drinks (i.e., alcohol, dessert, sugary drinks, etc.) is an easy way to give your body a break. Giving up something for a short period of time, even a week or month can break bad habits and have profound benefits.

The most popular fasting protocols are water fasting and intermittent fasting, which both provide similar benefits. Traditional water fasts are usually for longer periods like 24 hours up to a week or longer, while intermittent fasts tend to be around 16-18 hours.

Fasting is a great way to give your digestive system a break, since during the fast the idea is to eat little or no food. The primary idea behind fasting is that while you fast the body can focus on processing metabolic waste, burn fat, and focus on repairing damaged tissue.

Cleansing cures

There’s many mixes and cocktails of different kinds of cleansing cures out there and most of the are effective and okay to use as long as they include natural products.

Since everybody is basically different, you need to try it out what works best for you, here is a list of examples.

  • Coffee, espresso or something similar in strength
  • Lemon juice, coconut oil & cayenne pepper
  • MCT oil (concentrated coconut oil)
  • Epsom salt & water
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Plum juice

Start slow and easy, don’t overburden your system and experiment a little with pure ingredients. Do this when you have disposable time in a calm state.

Sauna, Exercising and Sweating

Sweating has been shown to push out a lot of waste floating around in our bodies including: ammonia, heavy metals, chemicals absorbed by the pores, etc.

Saunas and intense exercise cause the body to circulate a lot of blood and lymphatic fluid so that the body can process and eliminate the junk floating around in the body.

In the case of the sauna, the body relies on the body’s largest detox organ, the skin, to assist in the process by opening up and pushing waste out of the body’s millions of sweat glands.

Rest

If you are being enervated by too much stress at work, too many workouts (overtraining), or too many kids activities and parties, then rest is probably the best detox protocol for you.

There isn’t much to say about rest except that it is probably your most valuable healing tool. Especially since the body does most of its healing when we sleep.

Sleep isn’t the only way to rest though; simply taking a week off from work, doing Yoga instead of lifting weights, try meditation or just spend more time in nature without your phone.

Drink More Water

Your kidneys and liver are the body’s primary filters. Help them do their job by drinking more clean water and less sugary or acidic junk.

Eliminate unnatural sweetened drinks and sodas, cut down on coffee and start enjoying water as it is, if you need to spice it up a little you can always add some fresh lemon juice to it for more health benefits.

Enema

An effective home enema (intestinal cleanse) occurs when you are able to infuse enough filtered water or an enema-mixture into your colon to stimulate peristalsis throughout the full length of the colon, thus cleansing the entire colon.

Peristalsis – The involuntary constriction and relaxation of the muscles of the intestine or another canal, creating wavelike movements that push the contents of the canal forward.

Once enough water is in the colon, you then expel it, along with the resulting waste, into the toilet. You then repeat the process one or two more times.

Read more about home enemas here.

Final words

Are you overburdening your system with a bad diet and poor nutritional choices, over consuming alcohol and tobacco, indulging in sweets and sugary treats? Then regular fasting and cleansing may be something you will want to incorporate into your routine!

The type of enervating forces in your life are going to depend on your individual situation, so always do what is best for you based on your diet, lifestyle, medical history, etc. Obviously, as mentioned previously, cleansing isn’t suitable for everyone, so talk to your doctor first.
